Vintage real photo souvenir view book of Bath, Maine with 26 different black and white pictures. Based on the image of the USS Georgia at Bath Iron Works and MacMahan cottages, etc., published 1905 - 1907 era - but no dated is cited in this engaging booklet. Printed by Rowe Press in Bath and Published by Kennebec Souvenir Company in Bath. Original twine binding. Lawnmere in Southport
The Lawnmere Inn, the oldest continuously operating inn in the Boothbay Harbor Region, is 106 years old in 2004. Built in 1897 by Marston and Herbert Thompson on the eastern end of Southport Island, the Lawnmere opened in 1898 as a summer hotel. At that time the inn housed about sixty people and guests arrived by boat from the Eastern Steamship Company. Room and board was .00 to .00 per week. Advertisements from the period praised the "beautiful outlook on the Samoset River -- unsurpassed by any other house in town."

The Squirrel Inn, Squirrel Island
The Squirrel Inn was built in 1895 on the site of the Chase House, an earlier hotel which burned in 1893. The inn was originally called the Hotel Eastern but was soon after renamed the Squirrel Inn, reflecting the wishes of the island's residents. It burned in 1962 and was not rebuilt.
