Civil War 12th New Jersey Appointment & Commission of Edward L. Stratton to Second Lieutenant of Co. F. Given on the Ninth day of July 1862. As you can see in the photographs this document is in very excellent condition. There is some damage by the folds but you could see what damage is there in the photos. The back of the document you can see written that he was promoted to Captain of Company F 12th New Jersey on August 12, 1862. Also mentions mustered into service July 25, 1862 at Trenton New Jersey and also appears to be written the name Llewellyn Jones and some other writing that I cannot read. Also accompanying this commission is a CDV of Edward Stratton with the writing on the back as captain.
