PLEASE READ THIS FOR MULTIPLE PURCHASES:
I will combine shipping where possible (if items can fit in the same box and ship together safely). A 5# mineral specimen and a glass display will not usually ship together safely. If you want to get a combined shipment (where possible) then
DO NOT PAY
until I invoice you. Just "request total from seller" when finished shopping. I will pack the items together where possible, get the adjusted cost, and invoice you.
IF YOU PAY FIRST IT IS TOO LATE TO UNDO IT.
I ship in BOXES for better protection - not envelopes or padded mailers. If you pay for FIRST CLASS or PRIORITY MAIL then you will get it that way, not by Media Mail or Parcel Post or other slow shipping. Tracking numbers are linked to your "my eBay" and "Purchases" pages as soon as I run the label.
I want you to be happy with your purchase! If you have ANY problems with an item just contact me ("ask seller a question" link) and I will do what it takes to resolve the issue!
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
I can fit more than 1 set in a small, flat-rate box. If you are purchasing more than 1 set, do not pay until I invoice you and discount the shipping for you.
Each "Lot" = 12 pieces. 2 lots = 24 pieces.
Each piece
weighs about 11-12 grams (55-60 carats). Each lot of 12 is about 125-150 grams, over 600 carats!
Made of Mt St Helens volcanic ash. This ash is very high in silica and forms a green glass when melted and quickly cooled.
These pieces were made many years ago on a contract run and have not been produced again - when they're gone, they're gone.
This is a for a set of 12 Helenite Balls for cabs or faceting rough. Each measures about 3/4" diameter (20-21mm). This is the Natural Color for Helenite - the darker greens (and blues/reds) you see in some jewelry are enhanced from added metals and oxides. These are made from "pure ash".
Helenite was "discovered" after the Mt St Helens eruption of 1980 when a clean-up welder hit a pile of ash with his acetylene torch and it became green glass. Thus was born "Helenite".
WE HAVE MORE THAN 1 SET OF THESE - WHAT YOU SEE IS REPRESENTATIVE AND NOT LIKELY THE EXACT 12 YOU WILL GET.
A distinguishing characteristic of Helenite is the inclusion of some tiny bubbles. These pieces have some fine bubbling and surface ripples/pitting or rough spots, etc. from the casting process. These are "raw" pieces - unfinished.
These could be polished and used "whole" for large centerpieces, split for round cabs, or faceted. They are a very unusual items "as is".
Thanks for looking!
